Wednesday Apr 06, 2022
We’re back for Season 2 with our first guest, Lena Wood, a certified nurse-midwife located in Tacoma Washington! In this episode, we get into, and go beyond, birthing babies to understand what it means to be a full-spectrum midwife. We learn about other services provided for us by midwives and talk about the various stages of care for people with uteruses. Lena tells us about her midwife origin story and some insight as to what it means to provide a trauma-informed healthcare experience. We also talk about diversity in midwifery. Plus, in a new segment this season, Zahra and Hien wrap up the episode by sharing their thoughts on midwifery and their conversation with Lena.
